Using your own blood product for healing and rejuvenation (PRP Therapy) is a concept originating from wound healing and orthopedic research. When whole blood is separated into its components by centrifuge, the liquid portion containing platelets, plasma, and dissolved naturally-occurring growth factors can be isolated. This PRP, or platelet rich plasma, is highly beneficial in reversing many of the signs of aging.  Typical benefits include increased smoothness, improved elasticity, and “that healthy glow”.  These changes are related to the amount of PRP that penetrates the outer skin layer, thereby activating the existing multi-potent stem cells to develop and stimulate new collagen, healthier connective tissue, more micro blood vessels, and new micro fat cells, all that regularly repairs older skin.  Depending on the individual and the specific procedures, these effects improve for 2-3 months, and last for up to 2 years.

HOW IS PRP OBTAINED?

One or two tubes of blood are drawn from an arm vein. These are then spun in a centrifuge for 10 minutes, separating the platelets plasma and growth factors from the rest of the blood. The PRP is then applied to the treated skin, either topically or by injection. Major benefits include improved skin texture and tone, reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, regrowth and thickening of lost or thinning hair, and improvement of scar treatments and stretch mark treatments.

PRP is able to address a variety of cosmetic concerns in areas of the face and scalp that can be difficult to treat with other noninvasive techniques.

The most popular uses of PRP include:

  • Improving skin texture

  • Adding volume to the face, hands and neck

  • Treating fine lines and wrinkles around and below the eyes

  • Plumping up under eye grooves while improving dark circles

  • Minimizing wrinkles and lines around the mouth

  • Improving acne scars and stretch marks

  • Hair loss and restoration

HOW IS PRP GIVEN?

The skin normally functions to prevent things from entering the body. By introducing PRP through therapeutic breaks in the skin, the PRP can do its magic.

PRP Injections:  $450 per treatment (one tube)

stand-alone treatments for the face stimulates new collagen, enhances microcirculation and regrowth of new healthy skin. It is also perfect for stretch marks and loose, crêpey skin or even the dark circles under the eye! It takes several months for the full results to be seen, but it is impressive.  The growth factors start working immediately, and the injected platelets are activated and release additional growth factors that accelerates the desired effects.

PRP with Injectable Fillers: $299 per tube add-on

combining the volume replacement of injectable fillers with the skin-enhancing qualities of PRP. By directly injecting the PRP with the fillers, the full benefit of the PRP is delivered directly where it produces the maximal benefits. Addresses most of the major issues contributing to premature or undesirable signs of aging skin.  Very effective for reduction of wrinkles, and for improving appearance around the eyes and mouth.

PRP + Microneedling "The Vampire": $700 per treatment/ three series $1700

also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure using a device that contains fine needles. The SkinPen® is programmable to puncture the skin thousands of times per minute in a highly controlled fashion – each puncture creates a micro channel that triggers the body to produce collagen and elastin to fill the channels. By applying PRP immediately before and after the microneedling, the desired bio-cellular products are introduced into and retained by the treated skin, producing the desired benefits.

Hair Restoration: $895 per treatment/ three series $2500

PRP Hair Treatment is a non-surgical solution for men and women suffering from hair loss, balding or alopecia, and hair thinning. Doctors who specialize in hair restoration use PRP or Platelet Rich Plasma therapy to stimulate natural hair growth, increasing hair density, hair count, and hair thickness.Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment works by injecting the patient’s own Platelet Rich Plasma into the scalp at the area of balding or hair thinning. The patient’s PRP contains growth factors that can thicken the hair follicle or stimulate natural hair growth. This effective hair loss treatment strengthens existing hair and stimulates hair growth that comes back thicker, stronger, and in more abundance.

How many treatments are needed?

While specific treatment plans vary by patient, typically PRP therapy is performed once per month to treat hair loss and hair thinning. The treatment is repeated generally two more times at a one month intervals.  This same recommendation is used for skin application.
